What This Blog Covers
Most homeowner plumbing questions don’t need a $400 service call. Some do. The blog is where we walk through the difference, what to try yourself, when to call us, and what East Texas conditions (hard water, clay soil, mature pine and oak roots, older housing stock) mean for the systems in your home.
Posts are written by Nicholas, a Texas Master Plumber (RMP 41912) with more than 35 years of field experience, or by team members under his review. Practical advice based on actual jobs we run across Nacogdoches, Angelina, Shelby, San Augustine, Rusk, and Cherokee counties.

I called them Friday and they said they’d be out first thing Monday morning and they were here by 8:30. They did high quality repair work on pipes and replaced two sink facets. It looks so much better than before and works like there was never an issue. The best part of this review is they were REASONABLE on charges. Highly recommend!

Serving Nacogdoches County and Piney Woods.
Peace of Mind Plumbing operates out of Nacogdoches and covers a six- county stretch of Deep East Texas Nacogdoches, Angelina, Shelby, San Augustine, Rusk, and Cherokee. Whether you’re in a city or out on a county road, we make the drive. Most communities in our service area have no local master plumber with a dedicated online presence, which is exactly why we built this site so you can find us when you need us and know what to expect before you call.

Water Heater Questions
Straight answers. No filler.
How much does a new water heater cost in East Texas?
Cost depends on tank versus tankless, gas versus electric, gallon capacity, brand, and the complexity of the install (whether the existing connections, venting, and gas line are reusable or need updates). We provide a clear written quote before any work begins, and there are no surprise charges added at the end. Call us at (936) 652-6335 for a quote on your specific situation.
How long do water heaters last?
Traditional tank units typically last 10 to 15 years, and tankless units can run 20 years or more with proper maintenance. East Texas hard water shortens both numbers without regular service, so a unit that’s flushed annually and has its anode rod replaced as needed will outlast one that’s been left alone since the day it was installed.
Should I go tankless or stick with a traditional tank?
Tankless units cost more upfront but use less energy, take up less space, and last longer. Traditional tanks have a lower install cost and are a fine choice for households with predictable hot water needs. The right answer depends on your hot water demand, fuel type, install space, and how long you plan to stay in the home. We’ll walk you through both options when we look at your existing setup.
Do you work on gas and electric water heaters?
Both. Gas water heater repair, electric water heater repair, and install for both fuel types. Same Master Plumber on every job, residential or commercial. We also handle the gas line work for tankless conversions when the existing supply needs to be upsized.
Do you offer a warranty on water heater work?
Yes. Every new water heater we source and install carries a 1-year warranty from us. The unit itself comes with the manufacturer’s warranty (typically 6 to 12 years on traditional tanks, longer on tankless), which we register on your behalf at install. We do not warranty customer-supplied units, only the ones we source.
